Beschreibung
This car is one of only four of this model on the road in the UK. They were only produced for two years using tooling originally designed for the Dodge Victory Six hence the American influence to the shape. The body is all-metal with no wood. The production company was set up by William Morris and the Budd Company with backing from a merchant bank. Morris had a disagreement with his partners and was forced to resign so had to go back to producing later models by the old methods.
This car is in excellent all-round condition. It comes complete with an original J B Brooks & Co ‘Industria’ rear trunk and a fitted canvas cover to protect it.
The body has a smoke hatch in the roof, adjustable rear foot rest, silk blinds and ‘ladies’ foot warmer. The carpets and head lining have been replaced and the door cards are as original.
The engine is the original 2. 5 litre OHC unit which was rebuilt 4500 miles ago having had the crank reground, bearings re-metalled and line-bored and the bores honed. (Photo available) Oil pressure is good at 40 psi.
3000 miles ago the clutch was rebuilt with new corks and the brakes relined.
The Autovac was factory reconditioned with a new float to resist attack by modern fuels 1000 miles ago.
Tyres have plenty of tread.
Unlike many cars of this period, it has 12v electrics and hydraulic brakes.
This model was one of the first to be produced by Morris with chrome bumpers etc. all of which are in very good condition, as is the paintwork.
There is a large history file including old MOTs and brown log-book. A copy of the driver’s handbook is also there.
The same family owned the car for the first 30 years, to date it has had 6 private owners.
It has a current MOT to September 2020.
I have bought another car so space is needed, hence price.
