1999 mazda mx5 1. 8i sport limited edition!
here i have for sale is my mazda mx-5, she’s fitted with a 1. 8 injection engine and has a 5 speed manual gearbox which is mated to a torsion lsd from factory.
this mx5 is not to be confused with any ordinary mk2 mx5. this rare uk specification mx5 is one of only 300 made in classic red, and it does not end there, this high spec mx5 would have cost you £23, 119. 00 (i know this as i have the original bill of sale). she was sold by brian gubby limited in london.
the sport model production only ran for one year between december 1998 – december 1999 – making this not only nearly 20 years old but a rare and a classic car which will only go up in the future.
the sport limited edition model came with some nice touches from factory, they boasted a full body kit which included, front spoiler, side skirts & a boot spoiler, further enhancements included front fog lamps, colour coded rear mudflaps, 15” alloy wheels and a matching detachable hardtop. The interior was trimmed with black leather seats & door trims with a nardi steering wheel. The centre console featured “wood effect” trims complimented with a wooden hand-break grip & gear knob – all of which remain with this very original car.
standard vehicle specification also included sports suspension, torsion lsd, abs, drivers & passengers airbag, power windows, electric mirrors & aerial, stainless steel scuff plates, air conditioning & heated rear screen.
the mileage has just turned 69, 000 and is all backed up with comprehensive service history.
she has 5 previous keepers who have cherished this car.
bodywork is in exceptional condition for a car that’s nearly 20 years old. Before buying a mazda mx5 i looked high and low and the majority had shabby paintwork, rusty arches, terrible repair work to sills etc. This mazda mx5 has no rust, never been welded, all very original and strong – this is because she only comes out in the summer to play, never seen wet roads or road salt.
the car still boasts its original softop. This is absolute immaculate as can been in pics, no rips, no marks.
i have all the book packs, each & every previous mot certificate, invoices for all the maintenance work she’s had as well as the service book stamped.
-timing belt & water pump have been replaced in july 2019 – invoice to prove.
-new discs & pads fitted to the front
-carry out service, replace oil & oil filter, fuel filter, air filter - july 2019
