This is a rare car even in japan, in fact i cannot find another of this age for sale anywhere in the world.
only sold to the japanese domestic market.
you often read" find another" or " you won, t see another at a show" in this case i think the chances are slim of either happening.
i posted a few pictures on well known honda forums and was asked " what the hell is that" with only the owner of a pre facelift model knowing what it was. i so far have not found another in the uk and only later post 1990 650cc models for sale in japan.
personally imported by a gentleman as a daily for a very good lady friend in the nineties, registered to him briefly and ever since to her.
a 2 year only model, march 88 to march 1990 this is a ja1 1st generation facelift model that differs from the previous car by having a new 3 cylinder 12 valve engine, as opposed to the acty van 545cc unit and a conventional 3 speed automatic gearbox as opposed to the earlier hondamatic. Also a more aerodynamic front end.
this is also the range topping xlti with a fuel injected engine and aircon.
i am presently preparing the car for mot after a few years of storage, and am torn with which way to go with it.
there are no major rust issues and a few battle scars so offering it now to see if buyers would prefer to buy with or without fresh paint in places.
there is nothing difficult and nothing to stop it being tested once i have re fitted the fuel tank and fitted new tyres.
there is some cosmetic bodywork required to make it mint but if it was me i would prefer to buy warts and all rather than fresh paint. it is hardly a difficult job to paint something of this size.
i have no idea how to value it, i have to put a price on the ad, there is nothing in any searches i have done to compare, and am open to sensible offers above the listed price from those with a genuine interest.
a decent 90, s model seem to be around 6000 dollars shipped to the uk. Sight unseen. This rare early top of the range model is here, can be seen, and uk registered.
i am in no rush to sell and don, t need the cash, quite happy to get work done and show next year but will sell to a very good home with an enthusiast of the marque who shows they want it.
