Please do not be put off by the initial appearance of this Rascal. I have owned this truck for many years and for the last 5 years it has sat in a dry barn on our farm.
I have owned almost fifty Rascals over the years and this is by far the most rust free. It has never been welded and needs no welding.
I first owned this truck around 2006 but sold it after being hounded by the buyer for weeks. I agreed to sell him the truck on the understanding that should the truck be sold at a later date I would get first refusal. I bought it back several years later from the same person.
When I sold the car it was in grey primer awaiting a fresh top coat of paint. During the time is was out of my ownership it got painted white... badly.
Most of this paint came off with my pressure washer when I got it out of the barn two weeks ago.
After draining the stale fuel and cleaning the carb the truck started. It is remarkably solid and rust free.
It has the benefit of an original rear canopy which is the only one I have ever seen. I also have high load extensions for the dropsides and an original ladder rack.
I do have the original dropsides but they are rusty. The red ones seen in the pictures were sourced recently at over £200
In addition I have a whole load of spares for the truck, exhaust parts, radiators, starters etc.
In a nutshell this truck requires a thorough deep clean, aa decent paint preparation, then top coat. Due to being stood a service is recommended.
There is no rust apart from a small hole in the non structural part of the load bay..
This is a rare opportunity to buy what must be one of the best remaining pick ups.
The price reflects the condition and if potential buyers are not prepared to get close to the asking price it will be put back in the barn.
