1995 Toyota Carina GTi (175 bhp), 4 Door Saloon, 5 Speed Manual Transmission – FOR SALE
Remember this is the 175 BHP GTI model:
It's a front-wheel drive front-engined medium sized fastback with 4 doors & 5 seats. With 175 hp, the naturally aspirated 2 Litre 16v Inline 4 petrol engine accelerates to 62 mph in 8. 4 seconds and on to a maximum speed of 140 mph. Having a kerb weight of 1258 kg, it achieves 33. 2 mpg on average and can travel 438 miles before requiring a refill of its 60 litre capacity fuel tank. It comes with a 5 speed manual gearbox.
The GTI is truly great spec and if you want a Toyota Carina e you have to have the GTI Top spec model.

The Bad bits:
It is very important to mention all the things which I feel need to be addressed:
This is a 25 year old car and is in good condition for its age, however please do understand it is not in showroom condition
The bodywork for me needs attention, there are a couple of areas on which the lacquer has come off and some surface rust. I would be on the safe side and like a sand down and respray
The sunroof - one of the runners is broken. It can be repaired but a full sunroof unit will be provided with the car (worth £100)
The ABS light is on
The steering wheel needs attention the leather is fine but needs a restoration
Alloys wheels – yuk – They are the original GTi wheels but do need a refurb asap
A horrible mushroom sports air filter has been installed. I have been looking for a stock filter housing and hose but to no avail.
The Good bits:
It is a 25 year old car ?
It is a Toyota Carina GTi – according to ‘How Many Left’ there are only 4 left on the road and 33 Sorn at the moment
o These GTi’s (especially with saloons) are as rare as hen’s teeth.
It’s the 175 BHP model faster and more sought after
The performance is awesome, gearbox, engine all are in excellent condition
Interior is in truly excellent condition
Has a Hella Grill installed (cost me over £300) – Looks bloomin awesome though
Spares include limited edition Hella Fog lamps which are selling for £100 on their own – These are made of glass instead of the stock plastic
Spares include limited edition Carello Headlamps which are selling for £200 on their own – These are made of glass instead of the stock plastic
Spares include a retro Toyota Alarm unit with two fobs
Toyota First Aid Kit included & loads of other bits
Number plate ends in TRD – Toyota Racing Development (a private plate (well kind of)).
I have tried to be honest in mentioning everything I feel can be an issue. I welcome any test drive and viewing but honestly say that the car, engine, gearbox, electrics etc. all work excellent. I can get a bit pedantic with my cars and have them valeted regularly. I routinely use the Lucas or Redex fuel injector cleaners with my fuel and also maintain the fabric with protective wipes and sprays.
Please do also remember that this is a 25 year old car. The car is located in Birmingham and can be viewed at a pre-arranged time.
