For sale, fully restored 1983 Yamaha XJ750E-II. The very rare 29R model.
These are very collectable being a Japanese only model comprising the very compact and unbreakable 750cc motor in a XJ900 frame. The rarity comes with the engine as a few were manufactured without numbers, the stamp starting “29R-“ but with no specific number. This motorcycle is one of those !!
DVLA Registered in my name and with an MOT until the end of June 2020.
In 2019, the motorcycle was completely disassembled and the following works undertaken :
• frame and other components bead-blasted and powder-coated
• engine remains untouched as there were no issues
• new spark plugs and NGK caps fitted
• Hitachi HSC33-10 carburettors fully rebuilt, set up & balanced
• all original nuts, bolts, washers and screws cleaned up and re-used wherever possible for originality
• all brake callipers fully rebuilt, fitted with new pads and DOT4 fluid used
• new oil filter fitted and fresh engine oil
• new air filter installed
• correct 29R downpipes and silencers re-chromed
• as-new exhaust collector box sourced from the USA
• replacement Hagon rear shock absorbers re-used
• drive shaft checked and new oil installed
• air-assisted, anti-dive front forks rebuilt with new seals and fresh oil
• new battery fitted
• all alloy parts cleaned and polished
• petrol tank professionally cleaned and lined using Caswell Ethanol-resistant product
• tank, mudguard, fairing and all other painted parts professionally resprayed using new graphics sourced from USA
• some hard-to-find parts sourced in, and shipped from, Japan !
This motorcycle is not a show queen but is in superb condition and built to be ridden ! It could do with a minor fine-tune but it’s been set-up on a rolling road and I have the print out. I have two manuals, one covering the engine & the other covering everything else. I also have spare keys and a toolkit.
Sensible offers around £ 3000 will secure. It could be ridden away but does need minor tuning. I’d be happy to assist with your own transport company for a smooth delivery.
