Description
This stunning and authentic Kaiser Frazer is in particularly good condition. Coming from Africa tot the Netherlands in 1999 and then completely and carefully reconditioned. Because of his years of stay in Africa, the car has little of no rust. The car is remarkable complete. The interior has been renewed and executed in two colours according to original specifications. The dashboard has a characteristic speedometer and radio from the fifties. The undersite is point-like and free of rust. Technically the Kaiser is in excellent condition. The 6 cylinder engine runs smoothly and the gears work exactly as it should. The Kaiser is remarkably driverfriendly. There is a large amount of documentation with the car. Henry J’s that haven’t been altered, modified, or chopped into street rods are becoming very hard to find, but this one is still in it’s very original condition. The L-Head 6 cylinder engine pushed out 80 horsepower which was produced by Willy’s Overland. Transmission is a 3 speed manual transmission on the column, equiped with the optional overdrive. The car is painted to it’s original factory paint Cardinal red.
Henry J. Kaiser wanted to launch a second transportation revolution by bringing an affordable automobile tot the masses, akin to what Henry Ford had accomplished with the Model T. At its 1951 launch, the Henry J was described as “the most important new car in America”, and initially, the new compact sold well.
This Kaiser Frazer is a very interesting great shape and fine running piece of automotive history.
