Bentley Special R Type, dark red with black interior. NYF 562 is an alloy bodied 1953 Bentley R Type that has been built to the highest standard by Bentley factory trained staff, the alloy body was painstakingly hand made by the well renowned Derek Vertenten. The engine was completely stripped and rebuilt as was the gearbox and differential. The chassis was completely restored replacing parts where needed. The wheels were specially made, there are disc brakes on the front, adjustable suspension on the back, electric cooling fan, Klaxon horn. This car is a stunning piece of work from every angle, the back is probably the nicest I have ever seen on a Bentley special a true testament to its fastidious builders. So much fun to drive with an addictive burble. There is a book showing the build with many pictures including one of the wooden buck being made to hand beat the alloy body.
