MGB GT V8 – Fast Road Factory MGB GT V8
British Leyland introduced the factory MGB GT V8 in 1973. The cars were well received at the time, but poor build quality and the fuel crisis meant that only 2, 591 had been manufactured when production ceased in 1976.
In 2010 David Bradshaw (DICE Racing) purchased our Factory V8 from just the fourth owner with the intention of building an FIA approved fast road/ track car. Over the next four months the MG was placed on a roller and every component removed from the MG and checked, refurbished or replaced – hundreds of man hours were put into the project and the final result was an absolute testament to the skill and knowledge of the team that undertook the project.
Work Included:
· Sebring front/ rear wings & custom front spoiler
· Engine & gearbox rebuilt including fast road cam
· Rear axle rebuilt and suspension upgraded (Koni adjustables)
· Wheels/ brakes – EBC pads with off-set Minilite wheels
· Professional respray in original Flamenco Red – body colour underneath
· Re-trimmed interior & harnesses
Shortly after completion the car found a new home in France and covered just 4, 000 miles in six years being used for light regularity road use

In 2017 the V8 returned to the UK and used by a retired gentleman on Cornish roads before Milestone Classics purchased/ marketed the car in 2018
The new owner wanted to create the MG of his dreams. The car was sent to Batemans Performance & Restoration (West Sussex) - work completed:
· Steering: Easy steer power steering fitted
· Front Suspension: Competition front springs (600lbs/ 7. 75” long)
· Rear Suspension: New springs, poly-bushed, new bump stop pedestals
· Transmission: All fluids changed, re-bushed gear leaver linkage
· Brakes: Modified handbrake operation
· Exhaust System: New performance exhaust manifolds/ exhaust system
· Carburation: New fuel hoses & filter, new air-filters and service carbs
· Engine Breathing: Renew all filters and hoses
· Ignition: New plugs/ HT leads/ electronic ignition/ upgraded coil/ timing adj
We sold the car last year and was delighted when the owner, a regular Milestones customer, asked to part-exchanged the GT V8 against our Heritage re-shelled MGB Roadster – he simply wanted a convertible and trusts the quality of the cars we market
Today the MGBGT V8 is available at a fraction of the build cost. She is an utterly engaging drive with that wonderful V8 soundtrack - we recommend early viewing.
