Beschreibung
The famous 300 SL „Gullwing“ celebrated its launch at the "International Motor Sports Show" in New York in 1954. Mercedes-Benz experienced an enormously positive response to the 300 SL, and series production began at the German Sindelfingen plant in August 1954. The 300 SL Roadster is the successor of the Gullwing, slightly more comfortable and with convertible bodywork, mainly at the request of many buyers in the USA.
Between 1957 and 1963 a total of 1, 858 Mercedes 300 SL Road-sters were produced.
The vehicle presented here was delivered to the USA in December 1957, where it remained until a few years ago.
This 300 SL Roadster impresses by its first-class bodywork condition as well as its excellent driving characteristics. The paintwork was renewed in its original colour some years ago.
All numbers (engine, exterior, interior, body, transmission, axles, steering and rear axle) correspond to the state of delivery in 1957, "matching numbers"!
