Presenting this 1980 Bentley T2 Saloon with just 77, 000 miles since new
- A very desireable late production model & one of just 558 built -
- Comprehensively detailed history file from new -
EQUIPMENT:
Hand built steel & aluminium coachwork, Triplex "Sundym" glass, Bentley stainless steel wheel trims with colour coded bands, everflex roof, front spoiler, front driving lamps, white wall tyres, headlamp wash / wipe, dual door mirrors with interior adjustment, electric windows, central locking, electrically adjustable seats, power steering, centre console, front & rear armrests, front & rear seatbelts, polished burr walnut veneers, factory fitted Blaupunkt Frankfurt stereo, Pioneer speaker system, rear head restraints, rear vanity mirrors, 12v power sockets with cigar lighters, ash trays, & all of the usual period Bentley refinements

Finished in Walnut with applied Gold fine lines and Cream Everflex roof
The coachwork remians in a very honest order & is untouched throughout with the exception of the near side where restoration works have been undertaken that included fresh metal being let into the front wheel arch & finished in a protective coating ready to prepare for the final finish
After viewing the comprehensive history file, this T2 was the subject of a minor insurance claim twelve years ago, as a result of isolated damage to the drivers door. This was fully documented between the keeper & the repairer. The damage was repaired to a high standard by an experianced repairer & fellow R. R. & Bentley enthusiast. The brightwork is all complete including the Bentley 'Flying B' mascot & is again & un-restored - She certainly makes for a very exciting & worthwhile renovation
INTERIOR:
Originaly optioned with Beige (VM3234) leather upholstery, Black top & knee roll, Cumberland Stone (44) carpets & Light Fawn headlining. The whole cabin area remains in a good order that will require attention with the emphasis being on preservation
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:
Built with the traditional Bentley 6750cc V8 engine mated to an automatic transmission producing an "adequate" Bhp figure
Fortunately, this T2 has enjoyed dry garage storage since 2017. The engine was started & run up to temprature at regualr intervals to keep everything in a good working order. After connecting a fresh battery, the Bentley starts on the button & is running / driving very well - We must stress that no attempt has been made to recommission the car since storage & this will be required before road use!
HISTORY FILE:
Originally ordered via 'Broughtons of Cheltenham' Bentley Main Agents & supplied to a Mr Bellingham of Abergavenny
This 1980 T2 carries a highly desired 'V' registration number as she was registered on 4th Feburary 1980 & is therefore one of the later production cars with a '0039' series chassis number
Viewing the service history file for this Bentley certainly requires plenty of spare time! There is a large amount of detailed documentation that spans a fourty year period including:
Full build & final inspection records from the RREC, a wonderful letter from the original salesman dated 1996, period 'AutoTest' road test report on the new T2, previous MoT test certificates dating back to 1994 which helps to confirm the low mileage, road tax discs 1997 - 2013, detailed ownership records, various correspondence relating to repair works in 2008 & from the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club, various parts invoices & a thick pile of specialist invoices including a brake pump overhaul & transmission service costing in excess of £3, 000, less than 5k miles ago
Chassis 'SBH 0039753' has been enthusiast owned for a number of years & enjoyed sparingly with very little mileage covered in between MoT tests. The vehicle was last MoT tested in 2016 & last road used in August 2017, then she was stored away in the garage at the keepers property in Surrey awaiting restoration & recomissioning until now, when the hard decision was reached that he must simply allow the next custodian to enjoy the renovation procedure
