We are delighted to present for sale this rebuilt Series 3, presented in popular light pastel green, with limestone wheels and sand canvas.
Externally, this has all the hallmarks of a ‘stock’ Series 3 – the original galvanised cappings, vintage number plates, rear grab handles, rear mudflaps, wing-mounted mirrors and bonnet mounted spare. There is a towball to allow towing, which is a handy addition. A set of our own 750 tyres are fitted to give a strong stance, as well as additional gearing and unrivalled on/ off road capabilities. A canvas with side windows is fitted to bring light into the rear, which is a nice touch. The combination of all this gives a Series 3 that looks great – the bodywork is of a historic spray type finish rather than a brush, which is good to see and completes the look well.
The interior is largely standard – there are three standard seats in the front, with deluxe matting to the footwells. The rear houses a set of rear bench seats to increase capacity to seven including the driver and the canvas with side windows makes this ideal for all the family. There is a load mat to the floor area in the rear.
Out on the road, this vehicle drives just as you’d expect – with the larger rubber aiding the period driving experience, giving lower cruising RPM’s and better fuel economy. With the rebuild considered and many parts changed, it delivers a pleasing period drive.
