The completion of the full and entire rebuild of this car was in 2002. The work carried out was as follows:- Body fully stripped and shot blasted, all welding carried out as required and replacement panels fitted, engine fully overhauled, gearbox & rear axle were overhauled too, steering and suspension were rebuilt. All chrome-work was replated or replaced, interior upholstery was re-trimmed in soft sumptuous real blue leather, new quality tailored carpets and headliner fitted, new sunshine roof. Electronic ignition and kenlowe cooling fan fitted. Coachwork re-painted in the very desirable metallic blue base coat and lacquer. A Jaguar heritage certificate comes with the car, this proves the car is a 3. 8 and the date of manufacture was 1963. The gearbox originally was a Moss Box, this has been replaced for the later Jaguar synchromesh box. The car has always been garaged and has covered very little mileage over the years really since the restoration, however this Jaguar did confidently embark on a continental trip straight after the restoration was complete and apparently performed faultlessly.

After a short run out in this extremely beautiful Jaguar Mk2 3. 8 we soon established it is everything and more than we could have ever hoped to expect. The car drives and sounds really wonderful, the monocoque construction as apposed to body on chassis made these cars handle better overall. The XK 3. 8 engine was always the most desirable and particularly quick in its day with a top speed of 120mph and acceleration to match. Engine of choice for the Police and villains alike!

The drive is faultless in every way. Even after changing fashions and designs in the car industry over the years this is still an extraordinary beautiful car. At 57 years old she can still effortlessly make you smile and propel you down the road in comfort and at a brisk turn of speed. The ride is smooth without issue and has the ability to iron out all of the bumps as Jaguars always do.

The XK 3. 8 engine in this car is tuned well and performs as expected offering very good oil pressure, efficient cooling and a very quiet, smooth and steady idle. Everything works as it should. There is no doubt this car still oozes its famous and unique combination of classy looks, roguish charms and sensational curves. A real head turner!

The cars coachwork and bright work truly gleams and would make a great impression for sure at any historic rally or classic car show.

This Jaguar comes complete with a very large and extremely interesting history file which includes photographs during and after its comprehensive and detailed restoration. The history file also contains a massive amount of receipts, bills & documentation relating to its renovation and comprehensive maintenance over the years.
