Selling as part of our VW collection a true survivor and highly original Scirocco GL.

Delivered new on the 1st of August 1983 by Pooles of Fareham in Hampshire.
It was resold a year later by the same supplying dealer - the original transaction paperwork accompanies documentation spanning five decades.
Additionally there are full DVLA ownership records - making interesting reading. The third owner keeping the car for 25 years.
A relatively early MK2, being the 2nd year of production for the UK market and featuring the single front wiper mechanism retained from the Mk1 model.
Today, this model is actually rarer than the Scirocco Mk1 GLS. Fewer numbers of the MK2 being sold new, contributing to this.
It’s finished in Sienna Red with Black Velour interior and still retains its factory paintwork with no fading or lacquer damage. The interior is delightful - nothing missing or broken.
Powered by the later 85bhp 1. 6 unit and having covered only 75, 300 miles, it feels tight and responsive to drive. The brakes have just recently been replaced and are very positive and assuring.
There are some areas that could be improved if so desired, namely the front of the off side rear wheel arch which has some rust, less so on the near side in the same area, the driver’s door has rust spots along with a small area of the lower off side rear panel and the near side front wing has a shallow dent with a deep hairline scratch too.
None of the aforementioned being hugely detrimental to the overall appearance but I’d prefer to highlight for the sake of transparency.
In summary, with not too much work the car could be absolutely pristine but as it stands currently can still be readily used and admired - a great starter classic and for a younger owner, reasonable to insure.
