Here is my 1988 Austin Metro City, I’ve owned it for a year but I’ve decided it’s time for something different. It’s been such a good little car, it’s a real head turner!
It’s currently on 29, 535 miles and has MOT till February.
It’s got the original 998cc engine. Here are the things I’ve done:
Had a full service in august
Has had welding done from previous MOT, front jacking points were done
Alternator belt has been replaced
Has a new fuel pump
Rocker cover gasket has been replaced, and doesn’t leak oil
Timing has been set correctly
Has SSR Mk1 wheels, 12x5. 5 with new nankang tyres, put on about a month ago
Front and rear bumpers have been painted black, with the grille and light surrounds
Rear wiper delete
Arches have been rolled to accommodate the wider wheels
Has a powerflow full twin box exhaust system
The ride height has been lowered, cut rods on the front and fluid has been let out on the rear. Will be coming with the proper hydrolastic pump
The throttle cable may need replacing soon, the throttle got stuck wide open recently but managed to sort the problem out for now
There are some spots of rust on the boot, and passenger door but nothing serious
The fuel and temperature gauge are not working, the fuel gauge was temperamental when I first got the car, but now they’ve both stopped working. I have a brand new fuel sender to go with the car. All dash lights are working.
The driver side door looks to have been from a red metro, I can tell from the bad paint job that was done before I owned the car.
The car will also be coming with a set of 5 MG metro turbo wheels, with a set of rainsport tyres with lots of tread on.
