Description
I am reluctantly selling my classic 1993 VW Golf GL which is approaching 30 years old but is in exceptional condition for its year. I have owned the car for 11 years and bought it at 25, 000 miles., it is currently on 58, 000 miles. The first owner had it for almost 16 years, yet despite his very low annual mileage he religiously had it serviced every year, at great expense, at his local VW main dealer. The service booklet has 13 main dealer stamps and 3 VW specialists.
The second owner bought it off the elderly gentleman, who had given up driving, but only kept it for a week. He decided that the car was in too good a condition to be subjected to the type of motoring that he would have done. My wife bought it off him and became the third owner, it was recently transferred into my name and I became the fourth owner.
During my family ownership, the car has been well looked after and during this time it has had a new clutch £250, new clutch arm £400, new rear wheel bearings, new coil, new battery, two new front tyres for its last mot. There is a wad of receipts from new to support its excellent provenance.
Its body is rust free, except for two small blisters, which is very rare for a Mk3 Golf. For its last mot it had its first and only weld, two small patches near the jack points.
Being the GL model, it is well equipped with Electric windows, electric sunroof , electric mirrors, central locking, velour interior, Sony cassette radio. All the original booklets, complete with wallet are present. It also has two sets of keys.
I sorned the car at the end of November, just after its Mot which is valid until 21/ 10/ 21.
Please note that the car currently has a private plate but will be sold with its original prefix L registration. The Thule Roof Bars are not included in the sale.
