Here we have a lovely example of the 1978 bmw r100rs motorsport edition, a very limited run of 200 bikes.
the bike runs and rides very well, it's in great condition for the age, and extremely original, the patina on the paintwork and in particular the 'motorsport' pinstripe is fantastic, it also has the original and correct blue seat covering which is in great condition.
the bike is currently registered as a historic vehicle and so no tax or mot are required. The current owner has owned the bike since 2014, he purchased it form a friend who bought out new but pre-registered from the george whites dealership in swindon. There is a good amount of history with the bike, the most recent big spend being over £1000 in 2016 bringing the bike back up to scratch. One quirk that the bike has is that it records its mileage at near 6 ties faster than it should, mileage shows 90k but according to the current owner this should be nearer 30k, something which hasn't bothered the last owner and so has been left as is, call it character, this can be fixed but is quite a harmless fault so completely unto you.
present with the bike are the original handbook, first aid kit, wheel lock (that is stored in the frame tube), bicycle pump and some of its tools, plus the invoices for history mentioned above.
the bike runs and rides perfectly, new tyre and tubes have recently been fitted and it will be serviced prior to the sale.
