This is a stunning example of the C140 or W140 coupe known as the 'CL' finished in Iridium Silver Metallic with Black Nappa Leather (old school leather smell in this is nostalgia at its finest). Seats etc are immaculate.
This vehicle is backed by a full Mercedes Benz service history record with everything back by stamps and invoices available. I am the third owner of the car and I came into possession of it through the dealership I work for, which is a Mercedes Benz dealership. The car was sold new by this dealership and serviced in this workshop throughout its life. The car new was 175, 000 Irish punts which would have bought you a handful of houses back then! This is the range topping 600 V12 which featured the 'm120' engine powered by a 12 cylinder 48 valve engine. This engine will go down as one of the all time great engines produced by Mercedes, even ending up in the Italian Pagani Zonda supercar years after it was used in the CL & S-Class alike. This engine is famous for being able to put a 50p coin on the engine cover, then starting the engine and you will notice it still standing proudly. It showcases how smooth this engine was and to be honest its still one of the smoothest engines I have even driven.
I have tested my own CL with the coin trick and thankfully it passes the test! This flagship luxury powerhouse has been owned by icons like Michael Jordan, Princess Diana, Arnold 'The Terminator' Schwarzenegger to name amongst many heads of states or presidents ( such are only people who could ever afford it ). The spec on this car was ground breaking including the likes of parktronic, wood/ leather steering wheel, electric steering wheel, electric heated memory seats, double glass windows, soft closure doors/ boot, dual zone climate control, cruise control, 18" diamond cut wheels to name a few. This car also has the electric roller blind in the back. Only 4, 000 coupes were ever made worldwide making this an incredibly rare and sought after collectors item. The car causes much stir in Mercedes-Benz and famously over engineered, costing the factory over a billion dollars on R & D which at the time was absolutely unheard of! Still today its ridiculous to spend on R & D. The driving experience in this car is unlike anything else made today, its silky smooth in every way, as comfortable as any modern luxury car and with 397 BHP it moves like any modern car too! The bose sound system is again as good if not more powerful than any new car stereo and I have a very subtle adaption to allow for AUX input. Not seen through cabin so everything is still as from factory. These were designed with comfort as a priority over anything else but many people underestimate the handling ability on such a ginormous heavy car. Have a look at the reviews of the time. This car also featured recently (in S-Class form ) on episodes of Top Gear & the Grand Tour and in both shows they praised how good this car still is today and what an absolute steal it is at current market prices. The coupe is much more rare than its Saloon brother making it a fantastic investment for the future. Own a piece of Mercedes History with this stunning example.
