The E24 6 Series coupe is considered by marque enthusiasts as one of the most elegant silhouettes ever produced by the Bavarian automaker. Its design was conceived by Paul Bracq at a time when Italdesign's Giorgeto Giugiaro was recruited to restyle the E29 Turbo into the E26 M1. Giugiaro's influence became evident in Bracq's creation of a lighter, leaner, pointier yet equally sophisticated coupe compared to its E9 predecessor. Production began in 1976 using the 5 series E12 platform and the 6 cylinder M30 engine with variable capacities. In 1982 the platform was upgraded to an E28 5 series version that allowed for significant improvements including a lighter by 60 kg body weight and a stronger shell. Moreover the new double linked front suspension and the all new rear trailing arm layout with additional top mounted link for camber control permitted for superior handling. Last but not least the engine was now under computer-based management and the 4 speed automatic transmission came with an overdrive.
The E24 coupe offered here was produced in September of 1984 in the most attractive Bronzit Beige Metallic with Nutria velour interior to feature the most sensible 2. 8 lt M30 plant and the 4 speed with overdrive automatic transmission for open road grand touring. In 2001 it was imported in Greece and preserved thereon to a formidable condition. In 2017 its authenticity was certified and awarded an A/ 3 standing by Federation Internationale des Vehicules Anciens representative in Greece. It has always been stored indoors and driven on occasion for maintenance and local enthusiast events only. It is now offered fully serviced with a full set of original wheels and tools.
