Here at Old Colonel Cars we are delighted to have a superb example of the Alpina Roadster S. This low owner, May 2004 example, has covered only 51, 000 Miles. Its in immaculate condition throughout and benefits from a full service history.
The Roadster S is a very rare car. Only 365 were made worldwide, only 167 came to the UK, this is number 034. Of these only 3 where made in this color (Maledivenblau).
Alpina really went to town with the Roadster S, using their Alpina improvements wherever they could, insuring the Roadster has the performance and handling Alpina are famous for. They used the 3. 2 M3 engine as a base, then reworked the internals, rebuilt the engine using performance parts including Mahl, lighter and bigger pistons, improved breathing and exhaust, along with improvements to suspension, brakes, bodywork, wheel and tyre setup. They even sourced the perfect 6 speed manual gearbox for the car. The results are amazing, the same performance figures as the Z4M, but in a more subtle way. Power is available much lower down in the Alpina, making it much more rewarding in normal driving conditions. Don’t get me wrong, I love an M power car, but sometimes you have to be at the high end of the rev range to get the best from it. The sound from the Alpina is amazing, quite subtle from the inside, but a lovely deep engine note from the outside. This has been designed so that the exhaust note does not annoy the driver on long journeys, but you always know you are in something special, especially with the roof down. The steering and suspension setup is one of Alpinas specialities. This Roadster handles and steers perfectly. Its not as harsh as the M model, all this without compromising its handling at all.
The paintwork on this car is superb. The rare colour really working with the Alpina’s enhanced shape. There are Alpina bodywork extras wherever you look and with the 19inch alloys on this highly specified example, it just looks soo good.
Inside this Roadster is finished in Black leather with subtle green Alpina stitching, Alpina logos etc. The extra quality of the leather in this car is obvious as soon as you get in and it extends throughout the interior. This Roadster is a lux model, so benefits from most of the options available, such as Sat nav, heated electric seats etc.
This Alpina has only 4 previous owners. The current owner who I am selling this lovely example for, has a small collection, including an 840 Sport, E46 M3 and a pristine Aston Martin. They are all kept perfectly stored in a purpose built barn and are all kept and maintained to the same high standard.
This car has full service history. We have all the original manuals including the extra Alpina supplements, a fully stamped original service book, a folder off all old service receipts, old MOT’s, both keys, full HPI certificate including mileage verification etc.
A really outstanding example of a very rare car.
The values of these are on the rise and you won’t find a better example than this one.
