Description
A great opportunity to acquire this rare and properly prepared DB7 GTA, one of 112 ever built, 60 of which were sold in the UK.
Marketed by Aston Martin “for those who seek the thrill of a DB7 GT in the open road, but require the convenience and effortless relaxation of touchtronic automatic transmission around town, DB7 GTA provides the perfect solution”.
The DB7 GTA enjoys the uprated chassis, suspension, braking system, distinctive styling features and interior appointment of the DB7 GT and is thus rightly considered the ultimate automatic DB7.
DB7 GTA’s benefit from significantly improved braking performance over the standard DB7 Vantage due to larger and grooved brake discs, higher performance pads, improved brake cooling and an uprated booster system taken from the V12 Vanquish. This enhanced braking compliments the car’s sharper handling, achieved via uprated dampers, a revised front sub-frame along and firmer bushes, stiffening the suspension by 20%.
The GTA’s aerodynamics also benefit from the adoption of additional sweeps for the under tray, wheel arch liner extensions and a revised boot lid spoiler (reducing lift by 50%) and emphasised the new, sportier look. The car also features twin bonnet vents similar to those on the V12 Vanquish for better air-flow management and to help dissipate heat. Additionally, a distinctive wire mesh radiator grille and a lower air intake are fitted.
Inside, the GTA has sports seats, with extended shoulders and lateral bolsters as standard, special parchment & black instrument dials and a clock. The climate control knobs, gear knob, drilled alloy pedal pads and special sill plates are all in satin finish aluminium.
This particular example was first released from manufacture at the end of May 2003 and was first registered in the UK on 1st November later that year. Finished in Tungsten silver metallic with all Charcoal leather interior, Charcoal Alcantara headlining and Carbon fibre veneers.
This car has been greatly enhanced with the addition of new front discs and pads along with a brand new AML guaranteed replacement engine, both installed January 2021 in preparation for sale.
A rare, low owner, exciting to drive and appreciating Aston Martin in a great colour combination.
