1961 Norton 650SS, historic motorcycle (Tax and Mot exempt) with matching frame and engine numbers.
I have owned this bike since July 2014, and regrettably due to health issues, sadly the time has come to let it go.
This motorcycle was manufactured in 1961, making it one of the very early 650SS's to come out of the original Norton Motor Works in Bracebridge, Birmingham, England. I have an authenticity certificate from Norton Owners Club verifying.
It comes complete with 150mph speedometer fitted in that year only and was delivered to R. O. Clark Motorcycles in Norwich in December 1961.
I have a small potted history of the owners up to my ownership.
Original features as fitted are:-
Rocker breather pipe modification.
Factory fitted steering damper.
150mph speedometer.
Dunlop original wheel rims and original mudguards.
K2FC Lucas competition magneto and Lucas switches.
The seat is original, the petrol tank was replaced and painted in Manx Norton livery during a restoration around 1970, when the engine was rebuilt and the frame and tinware repainted.
The condition is fair and commensurate with age, but gives scope for some fettling and tlc. I would like £7, 000 which is the amount I paid for it in 2014. Viewings welcome. Any questions, please ask.
Unfortunately, no overseas buyers.
