Trying to get my lad into bikes so I bought this as a surprise and an introduction to two wheels. I have always had bikes so wanted to get the boy something special. Unfortunately the wife is not of the same opinion and so when I proudly introduced it I just ended up with a telling off! Anyway, This is not the usual Chinese junk and is made with decent components and a good build quality.
Those who know bikes will know that AJS are a long standing and respected British motorcycle company (albeit now manufactured overseas). The engine on these scooters are reliable and return a claimed 130mpg so super economical. As it's a 50cc its restricted to 30mph (does about 35 in reality) but can be de-restricted.
This one is in good condition. Has a few little marks commensurate with age but nothing noticeable unless you look very closely. It has low mileage at 4700 (shown as 7500km on the clock). Has MOT till October 21. I've serviced it, cleaned the carb and overhauled and bled the brakes through. Runs and rides perfectly and more importantly stops well. Tyres are almost new as is battery. As its a uk based company spares are readily available unlike other brands and are stupidly cheap. This is a quality scooter at a bargain price so will no doubt be worth the same in a year or 5 years time!
