Kawasaki GPz 750 Unitrack - 1983 A1 Model - Part Ex Possible
Finally updated with some proper outside photos. Please ask if you need any more or videos etc.
This Bike has been fully restored to a very high standard. I will do my best to describe the condition as honestly as I can. This is a full no BS description not like many sellers. I want to be 100% critical so everyone knows where we stand.
This bike was bought as an almost finished project, however there were a few issues which have now been resolved and we have a Lovely Example of a First Model GPz 750, I have only ridden it a few miles to test it and it drives fantastically, like a brand new one would have. Nearly everything on the bike is original.
Frame has been Powder Coated with a high quality finish as have the grab handles, rear rack etc.
The Bodywork has been fully professionally refinished in the Factory Colours with Standard Graphics.
The Wheels are Fully refinished including diamond cut rims, looking as it would have out of the factory.
The Engine was rebuilt - However not by myself so I do not have the full details of what was done internally. As part of Due Diligence I checked the engine as thoroughly as possible, including removing the sump and inspecting everything internally using a borescope to ensure there were no obviously problems. Compression on every cylinder is over 160 PSI. A Full service was done, all valve clearances checked, Oil has been changed twice after each short run to flush anything out from the build. The Cylinder Head has been retorqued twice after short running periods as per protocol after a rebuild, so should now be ready for regular use. The engine has been finished in some form of high temperature Ceramic or Powder Type coating, which looks great but took a long time to bake after startup and unfortunately some of the Cylinder Head has bubbled a little and spoiled the perfect finish. Still looks great overall and should last well.
The Exhaust System is standard but has been refinished as the Black Chromed was unfortunately too badly damaged. Full System has been blasted and the Front Pipes are finished in a Matt Ultra High Temp Paint and the Silencers in a Gloss High Temp Enamel. The Finish is Nice and they look good, although there are some dents etc in them from before refinishing and the Badges are not perfect - they have been given a quick tidy up but a New Pair would be ideal to finish up.
The Bike has New Discs all Round, New Tyres, New Chan and Sprockets (Chain is a 630 Chain but a Standard Duty one with a Removable Link - If I was Keeping this bike I would install a Rivet Link on it)
The Rear Mudguard is the Full Length as per factory but a Replica Fiberglass one, you cannot tell at all unless you look underneath it, its a very good quality item.
All Electrics Work as they Should, all sensors are working (Battery Cell Warning is Bypassed as fairly standard nowadays).
All Hoses are the Original Factory Ones, the Anti Dive is still fitted and Works Correctly and has been fully inspected! Forks have been fully rebuilt.
Now any Bad Parts that I feel should be highlighted to be as honest as possible although many I have mentioned already.
Some Bubbling on the Cylinder Head Area of the high temp finish
The Carbs are not finished in the original factory black - instead they are as you see them stripped of the coating
The Seat is the original - although Cover is not great there are a few small tear at corners as normal at this age. It could be recovered or patched as preferred.
The Engine has been rebuilt and everything is checking out well but I have no details of what has been replaced internally which is unfortunate but reflected in the price.
The Exhaust is standard but not standard Finish and Ideally you would want the black Chrome Finish to be Correct.
While most Chassis Fasteners are the originals the engine covers are as you can see secured by Stainless which is not correct as per factory of course.
The Number Plate is the original one but has started to delaminate - so is really for show.
In Summary - A Very Nice Example of a Restored GPz 750 and being the A1 is the Most Desirable Model. Finishing to the Condition the bike is in today would cost you thousands and thousands. So here we have one that someone already spent all the Money on! It will only appreciate from here if properly looked after.
I can arrange transport anywhere in the UK and Overseas Shipping is also possible.
Any Inspection is Welcome and I can provide additional Photos and Video's as needed
There are similar GPz 750s For Sale at this price but none have had this level of work done to them - Best Value you can find and Great Investment!
