Description
HONDA SL350K2
This is the final version of Honda's big trail bike and, by all accounts, significantly better than previous versions, K1 and K0.
First registered in this country Feb 2017 2 former keepers Taxed as Historic vehicle. I purchased it in Dec 2019 in very good unrestored condition and have carried out a minor restoration since.
Paintwork is candy yellowy gold, side panels excellant, headlamp original but very good, and it still has the original tank sticker re wearing a helmet but, but the finish of the tank could be improved: I have plenty of spare paint.
Mudguards have no dents but a few marks. Seat is excellent. Rear lamp holder is not marvellous.
Engine is excellent, all I have done is check it over, replace oil, clean filter etc. It runs very well, and is typically quiet, and starts easily.
Forks are original and excellent, no chrome pitting, rear dampers are probably original and a bit rusty, rear DID rim is excellent, just a few marks, front DID rim is free from rust but has a dent in one place, but no effect on air in tyre. Front tyre very good, rear is new.
Cables are original and very good, I gave them a good oiling.
I have replaced many small parts, mostly rubber parts, inc new brake shoes (front brake very good, rear not so good), new battery and petcock. New aftermarket exhaust system, all receipts for parts (£1000 with David Silver alone).
Has small box of spares: plugs, points, fork seals etc. It has its original tools and box, see pic.
It shows 8K miles, which, judging by its condition, is quite believable, I have done very few miles on it, but it rides very well. It’s not museum quality but is far more original than other over-restored examples.
