1991 VW Polo Saloon For Sale

A lovely, original (and very rare) Polo CL Saloon finished in striking Capri Green. 1272cc with 5 speed gearbox. Only 2 owners, 92, 839 miles.
The Polo was purchased in 2013 at 79, 400 miles as my son's first car. In the following two years it covered a further 13. 5k including trips to Scotland, South Wales and East Anglia without missing a beat. The car was SORNed when he moved to London in 2015 having had a new fuel tank and a service immediately beforehand. Since then it has simply been cleaned and warmed up regularly (still starts first time) and moved around the drive. The car is now MoTd to 4 May 2022 for which it required the rear brakes overhauling and a small amount of welding work just ahead of the passenger side rear wheelarch (see photo of repaired area).
Paintwork and plastics are all original and looking great. Although being original, it does have some blemishes and parking dings which are to be expected on a 30yr old car - all attributable to the first elderly owner! The interior too is in great condition with as-new tailored floor mats and period (but not original fitment) radio cassette player. On the minus side, the seams have started to separate on the rear of the back seat "headrests" (see rear view photo) and on purchase we carried out a homemade repair on the driver's seat side bolster where the fabric had worn through which, as you will see from the photograph, has proved effective but not invisible.
This is a really elegant little car which has attracted a lot of attention whilst in our ownership; in fact, if circumstances allowed, I would happily keep it to use as my daily transport.
