Original ST specification, 6 CD Changer Radio, ST Alloys, Stiffened Suspension, Oil Temperature & Pressure Gauges. Rare Rally WRC Spoiler fitted, in addition to a K&N Induction Kit. A slick 6 Speed Box is mated to the infamous 2. 0 Duratec Engine. Out of the box these are extremely well engineered hot hatches, with 170BHP output from the 2. 0 Litre, featuring a Factory 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifold & Sports Cat, Variable Cam Timing, Uprated Valve Springs and Forged Rods with peak power produced at 7100 RPM.
The chassis is sublime and is an absolute credit to the design engineering in place that formed the platform for Ford Focus WRC. Steering has brilliant feedback, turn in is sharp and precise and thanks to a balanced chassis oversteer is available on tap. Exactly how a proper FWD Hot Hatch should drive.
This example has under went some recent maintenance in preparation for sale. To note, a new Starter, Discs & Pads on all 4 corners. A new offside Caliper, Gearbox Oil change with new genuine Ford Drive Shaft Oil Seals, in addition to new Rear Shocks & Heater Motor Resistor which commonly fail. It also had a new Clutch fitted a year ago, having covered less than 2k since, it bites brilliant and is quite sharp. The Cambelt was changed at the same as the clutch for peace of mind.
Being a 17 year old Ford, it's not perfect. There are a few bubbles coming through on the drivers side rear arch, and surface bubbling on the sill. These have been touched up to stay presentable. The exhaust rubbers have went soft with age and occasionally if you go over a speed bump too quick it touches the bumper. Otherwise, I cannot fault the car.
Overall a brilliant example of an original Fast Ford, and a guaranteed appreciating classic. Currently the only example for sale in the country.
