Volvo 850 T5 (225bhp) - Auto Estate in dark olive pearl and with MOT to the end on Jan 2022.
The car was first registered by Lex Volvo on 30/ 01/ 1996 and I have been the only owner for 25 years. In that time I estimate that the car has done approximately 140K - 150K miles because in Jan 2017 the clock stopped at 121, 384 and I never had it replaced, however since then, my mileage has been no more than 2, 000 - 4, 000 per year as I work from home and drive very little.
The car features the very desirable auxiliary rear facing seats that make it a seven seater, an unused child booster seat, the estate pack that includes self-levelling suspension, an unused tonneau cover and luggage restraint nets, the 6-CD player and Volvo roof-rails. In addition the space-saver wheel and jacking tools are unused.
In May 2015 I had the original alloys stripped and re-lacquered in gloss black which I think look great. The tyres are Bridgestone Potenza. More recent repairs include a replacement steering column, new starter motor, new handbrake shoes, new front and back break disks and pads, new os-front break calliper, new driveshaft inner CV gaiter, new rear wiper linkage, new os-front wiper arm. All the repairs in addition to the annual full service are recorded in the service record. Internally the glove box lock is broken and replaced by a earth magnets and the top of the arm-rest accessory-box cover is also a bit wobbly.
For those interested I can supply you with a full vehicle health check which I had done on 20th Jan 2021, the original purchase invoice and all the past MOT certs. Regarding faults, there are some minor paintwork scratches and dings, some signs of peeling paintwork lacquer and a small bullet chip at the bottom of the windscreen. There is also some “misting of oil” at the rear of the engine and a very minor oil leak from the gearbox. In addition the exhaust has some corrosion and the air-con won`t retain coolant for long.
The car drives incredibly well and if one dares to put it into the sport mode it really gets the adrenaline pumping. The engine bay also looks incredibly clean and my independent Volvo specialist recons that the car has many, many years left in it and I shall be really sorry to see it go.
