- Ex Eric Offenstadt
The constructor from Savoie produced around fifty single seaters between 1954 and 1973, from Formula Junior to Formula 2, driven by such renowned names as Beltoise, Jabouille, Depailler, Mieusset, Pignard and Offenstadt. Offenstadt competed in this car in six events during the 1968 season. It was discovered in 1986 by the current owner who had it restored in 2005 by specialists : Paul Julien for the mechanical elements and Claude Quintin (Benito) in Magny Cours for the chassis. It has a magnesium Hewlett Mk8 gearbox mated to a 9x13 differential, and is fitted with the correct Weber 46IDA carburettor and a Smiths Chronometric rev counter. All the work has been perfectly carried out, with a list too long to include here, but discerning enthusiasts will be reassured by any in-depth inspection. The car was invited to Brands Hatch in 2006, to compete in the Peter Hanson Trophy and has not been run since then. The tyres, extinguisher and harness will need replacing but otherwise the car is ready to take to the track. Inspired by the engineering of the Lotus 22, it would present as a formidable competitor in European F3 Classic events. The car comes with its historical FFSA passport and a photographic file of the restoration.
Estimation 40 000 - 60 000 €-without reserve price
