EXTERIOR:
Finished in the ever popular, Nightfire Red Metallic. This twenty - five year old example is truly resplendant with a gleaming uniform shine & pin sharp along her flanks. Upon her arrival here in the UK, the gentleman keeper embarked on a full underbody clear Waxoyl protection. Fantastic to see a rust free & protected Metro!
INTERIOR:
Specifically designed for the Japanese market, the 114 SLi was built with a very special leather upholstery. The interior cabin resembles a scaled down Range Rover Vogue with highly polished burr walnut veneers, Triplex tinted glass & soft Light Grey leather, piped in Dark Grey. The UK never received such luxury for the mainstream Austin Metro / Rover 100 models, only being resereved for the flagship Vanden Plas range or specialist aftermarket coachbuilder adaptions.
Another fantastic addition to the factory specification is air conditioning, very discreetly built into the cabin with a facia mounted switch & remains ice cold. As you can imagine, with just 11k miles under her wheels, the interior is in superb order throughout & can only be described as stunning.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:
Built with the superb 1390cc, 1. 4 fuel injected four cylinder petrol engine coupled to a lovely automatic transmission. This wonderful low mileage 114 starts on the first flick of the key & runs beautifully. The engine has always received very careful maintanence both in Japan & here in the UK.
HISTORY FILE:
Supplied new to Japan & repatriated in 2020 by a Japanese importation specialist. This 114 SLi was purchased by a gentleman who had owned a Nightfire Red Rover 100 GTi in period & wanted to recreate his pride & joy once more! The 114 was highly cherished & only briefly enjoyed by the gentleman before he sadly passed away.
Viewing the near - to - bursting Rover Owners book pack, there is an abundence of service entries in Japan & then fully serviced in the UK. There are full Japanese records, all owners guides / booklets & five sets of keys!
