Description
Rare late '76 R100RS. The RS was a '77 model year bike and production started Autumn '76. The bike has the defining early version features (rear light, foot rests).
I have owned and used the bike for nine years but have not used it for the last six months.
Mileage is uncertain but from my experience of owning various airhead BMWs it is not particularly high. I recently had the barrels off to change the push rod tube seals and the bores are in excellent condition.
I have toured fairly extensively on the bike, it is ready to go anywhere. Fork springs are new, rear shockers recent, battery new and tyres good. It has a few stainless goodies plus San Jose fork brace and top yoke. A Surefoot side stand is fitted.
The bike is unrestored and has the bumps and scrapes you might expect from a 45 year old machine in regular use. It is perfectly presentable but don't expect it to be immaculate.
The bike was imported from Italy in 1982. It is correctly UK registered as 1976 and under historic class.
I have most of the spares needed to run the bike without fairing which I will include if the full price is paid.
It is a lot of bike for the money - the equal of a Guzzi Lemans or a Laverda Jota for significantly less money...
