1988 Renault GTX for sale – Great restoration project.
This car has had only 3 keepers and has a recorded mileage of 60, 661 miles.
It has been stored off-road since 1999 and has not been run. The engine turns over fine and the vehicle offers a great restoration project. The floorpan is solid and this is an excellent restoration project car.
The Renault 5 GTX is a very collectable and rare car with a zesty , 1721 cc engine and was a ‘diet’ GT Turbo, designed for those who fancied the look of the hot hatch, but with a toned-down performance. It looked the part, developing 90bhp with a top speed of 115mph and 0-60mph in under 9. 4 seconds.
The GTX has a five-speed gearbox and 13-inch steel wheels, upgraded suspension as standard, ventilated front disc brakes and velour seats completed the makeover.
The body on this car is solid and unmolested and all mechanics are original. It offers a tremendous restoration project to an enthusiast. As stated, the engine turns over ok but it has not been started for over 20 years.
The interior is in good shape but will need a deep clean.
