Description
Mallard Green Citroen Xantia Exclusive HDi with sunroof. It comes with two ignition keys with remote control key fobs. This model has manual gearbox, power steering and windows, electrically operated and heated front seats, black leather upholstery and polished wood trim on dashboard, doors and gearstick knob. It has alloy wheels and a set of locking wheel nuts. I have been the sole owner since 1999.
This car has a low mileage of under 77, 000 and is in good working order. It has been serviced every year and I can furnish evidence of this, although the service history has not been regularly completed. MOT valid until May 2022. New battery in December 2021. It still drives extremely well, with no extraneous noises, and provides a smooth ride, with its hydraulic suspension, which is adjustable. The engine performs as powerfully as it ever did.
The car has not been garaged and, consequently, the paintwork needs attention in places, notably around the front grill, but there is no evidence of rust. There is a sizeable scuff mark on the offside rear bumper which is visible in the photographs. I am able to supply the same green spray and tough-up paint. The interior is in good condition, though the varnish on the gear knob has partly worn off with years of use, and the driver’s mat has a hole in it.
The electricals all function well, although the inflatable lumbar support has acquired a leak. The radio/ CD/ cassette player is in full working order, but the bass sound from the speakers has recently become distorted, so I believe the speakers need replacing. There is a 6 CD exchanger in the boot.
I love this car deeply, which is why I have kept it for 22 years. However, it has needed more work done on it over the last couple of years; several parts have been replaced and, inevitably, parts are becoming more difficult to source. More importantly, I live in the Greater London area and am regularly threatened with driving and parking surcharges because it is a diesel model of a certain age. So, I must be now be practical: I reluctantly decided to buy a new hybrid car for peace of mind going forwards. I could part exchange the Xantia, but then it would inevitably be scrapped, which would be such a shame, since it has years of joyful driving left in it. I want the ‘Green Goddess’ to have a new life. She should become available 15th November onwards.
