Here we have for sale this Land Rover® Series 2a, presented in Deep Bronze Green colour scheme with Limestone Wheels. It is presented in a ‘stock’ format – as the photos show. Externally, the vehicle is largely original with bonnet mounted spare, vintage number plates, wing-top mounted mirrors, rear grab handles and rear mud flaps. The galvanised cappings also have their original finish and have not been painted, which is nice to see.
The original and ‘stock’ theme continues on the inside – there are three deluxe seats in the front, with deluxe matting to the footwells. There is a heater with front windscreen demist, which is very useful and a nice touch. The rear is unfitted with the exception of a load mat to the floor area, but could house bench seats on request for £395 & this would provide seating for seven occupants including the driver. Similarly, windows can be added to give a station wagon effect for £495 – or a full soft top conversion can be done for £2995.
Out on the road, this Series 2a delivers a pleasing period driving experience – it stops and drives just as it should. The free wheeling hubs reduce axle wear and maximise fuel economy.
