Description

HONDA BROS 400 (Hawk 400)
A well looked after, lovely example of a ~30 year old bike. 36000km = 22370miles.

I've had the bike for around a year and, after taking it off the road and giving it some TLC when I first got it, it has never let me down. Stored in the garage since I have had it, and stored in a shed before that, according to PO.

It's got no advisories with 6+ months left on its MOT. Starts up well on choke with a smooth idle, and pulls really well across the rev range. The engine is torquey and linear from low down which gives a really nice, smooth, easy riding experience. The Bros comes with a stiff box frame from bikes with bigger engines which gives it good handling characteristics too. The engine on these is famously Other than an oil change and slight tappet adjustment, the engine didn't want for anything when I got it.

On top of that, I have changed the chain and both sprockets, both fork seals as well as new fork oil, engine oil filter (and oil), removed aftermarket raised handlebars and replaced with as close to stock as possible, replaced rusted aftermarket exhaust with a full decent stock example, replaced front disk and pads, as well as flushing both front and rear brake fluid, and added a custom mobile phone mount. It has also had a very thorough clean in all the hard to reach places as they were easier to get to when completing the other jobs.

I also have some spares which include the pillion footpegs (replaced with custom fairing brackets - I just think it looks nicer!), an aftermarket headlights surround and brackets, and a smaller number plate (not legal on the road). The bike has most if not all of its original tool kit and comes with a Haynes manual.

Bad bits: the bike has some small dents on the tank and some small scruffs on the rear faring. Could do with a coolant flush which is nice and easy on a bike. If I am getting really picky, a slimmer rear tyre might improve turn-in response but the current tyre works well enough, the previous owner wanted a sportier look.

Please message if you have any questions, I have quite a sporadic schedule with university and work but will be able to message you back fairly quickly, unlikely to be able to answer the phone.
