This rare 2001 Defnder 90 has been the subject of a full restoration. At the begining of this year the vehicle suffered a roll onto its side damaging the rear wing, door and roof gutter.
We then purchased the vehicle and commenced a full resortation, all of the above panels were replaced, but this increased to a 2015 roof and side panels (all genuine LR) along with doors from a 2015 Puma, genuine LR with the galvanised frames and a new galvanised rear door. The wings and bonnet were also upgraded and everything fully repainted individually before rebuilding. The capping rail from the 2015 vehicle were blasted and galvanised along with the rear corner trims, acid etched and painted to ensure no corrosion in the future.
A new galvanised richards chassis was ordered, the axles fully prepared and painted with all new brakes and suspension and the rolling chassis was then fitted with a galvanised bulkhead and the Defener build up from there. While the engne was out a new dual mass flywheel and clutch were fitted and all complonents that could be galvanised on the underside were to ensure longevity.
The body was then built up after each panel was painted in the correct bonatti grey in 2 pack professionally. All new seals have been fitted throughout, new led lights but to original spec along with lamp surrounds etc.
The interior is all original Tomb Raider Spec and in good order and has been cleaned as it was refitted, aside form a 2015 headlining to give a fresh feel. The sunrood was not re-fitted, it was an option originally and is available shoudl th enew owner require it.
The wheels were prefessionally refurbished and have the machined outer rim put back to original and fitted with Continental tyres as per the last fitment to LR's. All new mudflaps and side steps have also been fitted to complete a through rebuild.
The 90 has a new MOT and we are awaiting a replacement V5. The roof rack is currently being refurbished, alought we were going to refit due to the wind noise and a NAS rear tow bar is with the vehicle but yet to be refinished.
The work has been carried out professionally and to avery high standard but a new project forces reluctant sale.
