1967 Morris 1000 traveller
I have for sale my little Morris. I bought this at the beginning of the first lockdown from a family member who bought the car in 2007 from a local garage (where it had come in as a part ex for a daewoo Matiz). She ran the little moggy everyday up until 2014 where it was dry stored until early 2020.
The car was previously restored in the early 2000’s but the paint was never great on it. I intended on doing a full restoration, as I thought my business would quieten down through these strange times but it did quite the opposite so I actually haven’t had much time to spend on the little car!
First off, all the welding has been completed and it’s now solid, looks to be a good standard but it was completed before I got it.
I have had the interior recoloured and re padded, I chose not to have the covers replaced as I wanted to keep a bit of character with the car.
All the brakes have been replaced, including all the cylinders, shoes, and rubber brake hoses.
The car has had a full service, including:
- plugs
- points
- rotor arm
- dizzie cap
- oil filter
- air filter
- fuel filter
- battery
I also fitted a brand new front bumper and over riders, the rear bumper is in good condition also!
It’s also had a new fuel tank fitted.
Now for the bits that need attention
- ideally it wants painting, my relatives husband decided he was going to get it ready for paint and has sanded some paint back and then he changed his mind and has touched up using aerosol.
- the doors want adjusting, it’s had new hinges but they need tweaking.
- it requires a Speedo cable
- the fuel gauge doesn’t work
- the wood is generally in good condition but it has had two repairs in the past, they look okay but not perfect.
- the carpets don’t fit great
There will be some more bits that needs doing but they are the most obvious things I’ve discovered.
It’s drives spot on and goes through the gears as it should, and stops as well as they ever did, I’ve been using the car quite regularly and it gets quite a bit of attention!
Overall it’s a lovely little car that just needs taking to the next level, sadly I just don’t have the time for this at at the moment!
Any more questions please give me a message/ call
Many thanks, Ben
