Description

This lovely original RHD Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupe was originally supplied new in Namibia in 1967 and remained there until being imported to the UK in 2006.

It was owned by a Mr F Stiemert of Swakopmund in Namibia for many years before he sold it to a Mr Andrew Stringer from Twickenham, England in September 2006 and it was then shipped back to the UK and registered here on 23rd November 2006.
The mileage at this time was 91, 146 miles which was confirmed as its original mileage from new when it was sold.

It is finished in its original colour scheme of Orange with a White roof and has new Beige trim, new Black carpets, and it is fitted with an uprated 2. 0 Litre water cooled Engine in place of its original 1500cc Air Cooled Engine, 4 Speed Manual Gearbox

Excellent Chrome-work and brand new alloys wheels and tyres ( its original Steel Wheels with Chrome Hub Caps are available).

In the last couple of years thousands have been spent on the car including a high quality repaint with all new rubber seals, complete new interior trim in Beige with White piping including door cards, new carpets, fitted a heater, heated rear windscreen and overhauled the brakes. The underside is equally clean

The interior also benefits from a modern retro stereo system and wood rimmed steering wheel ( original available)

As a result of these works, the car is in absolutely fantastic condition throughout with beautiful unmarked paintwork and with the 2. 0 litre water-cooled Engine, it really drives beautifully, offering sprightly motoring.

The mileage on the speedometer now is showing 13, 579 which means that the car has covered a believed genuine 113, 579 miles from new, but much less on this engine of course.

It was last MOT'd in March 2020 with 'No Advisories' which is a testament to just how good this car now is

There are very few Right Hand Drive Karmann Ghia's still in existence, especially in this condition, so this really is a very rare car on our roads today and consequently they are rapidly appreciating in value.

A fantastic car and beautiful to drive and it will be a great investment

The Karmann Ghia was originally launched at the Paris Motor Show in October 1953 as a styling concept by Ghia of Turin and went in to production in 1955 where the Type 14 as it was known, was hand-built by Karmann in Osnabrück, Germany using the same VW mechanicals as the VW Beetle Cabriolet which they were already producing for Volkswagen. The Type 14 exceeded all expectations and more than 10, 000 were sold in the first year and 445, 238 were built between 1955 and 1974.
