We are delighted to present for sale this MOT & Tax Exempt Series 3 Land Rover®, presented in rare to see Mid-Grey with Limestone Wheels. This vehicle has been a local car to us for years and has been in the North East of England (Bishop Auckland) with the last keeper.
Externally, this vehicle has a very stock appearance, with the exception of some larger, defender style door mounted mirrors to aid rear visibility. The bodywork is of a spray type finish, and the galvanised cappings are original, which is nice to see. There are some rear mudflaps and grab handles fitted, along with a set of 700 tyres with a cross-climate tread (Hankook Branded). All of this culminates into a very clean look – no nasty additional extras or clutter – and in our opinion, it looks all the better for it.
On the inside, there are a set of 3 deluxe front seats, with deluxe matting to the footwells. The rear is unfitted, with the exception of a load mat and the spare tyre, which is housed in the correct place on the rear of the bulkhead as pictured. All doors have new door cards fitted, which is a nice touch.
Out on the road, this Series 3 delivers a pleasing period driving experience – no added frills, and just a slightly larger tyre to aid with cruising and increase gearing. The cross-climate tyres mean a better on-road performance too, without sacrificing too much off road ability. Due to the fact this colour is often seldom seen, it attracts a great deal of glances as you drive along.
In summary, if you are looking for a ‘stock’ and ‘no frills’ Series 3 Land Rover®, then this could be for you. With MOT & Tax Exemption, along with classic insurance, it should prove cost-effective to own in the longer term, whilst also being the minimum hassle one can expect of a 40 year old Land Rover®!
