Description
For sale is my 1990 Honda Prelude 2. 0i 4WS Manual, a UK car first registered in November 1990
According to howmanyleft. co. uk, there are only 9 of these on the road in the U. K. [see next to last pic or check their website]
I have owned her since January 2007, when I bought her to replace an earlier model. She’s covered 104, 695 miles [verified by MOT certificates and service receipts - all from RA Engineering in Reading]. This will go up slightly as I take the car out to give it a run every week.
I had her up for sale here in 2019, and then lockdown happened. Since then, she has been stored in my garage; the last MOT expired in March 2021. I got her out last week and she now has a fresh new MOT, valid until December 2022.
Engine, mechanics and bodywork have been lovingly & professionally maintained regardless of cost - I've spent a small fortune keeping her on the road, which I don't begrudge at all.
She has had a professional bodywork restoration and respray, plus new windscreen [the old one was had a few stone chips] fitted at the same time without damage to hidden paint surfaces you get from places like.
Bodywork refurb & maintenance by Mark Allen Cars of Reading. Mechanical maintenance by RA Engineering of Reading.
Featuring [but if you’re looking at this, you’ll know already] Electric windows, sun roof, mirrors and aerial plus pop-up headlights - all working. Aircon doesn't work and never has. I have never tried the cruise control.
Face-off JVC stereo.
Brilliant four wheel steer – feels like you’re on rails going round a roundabout.
Interior [velour fabric] very good - no rips or tears apart from one small mark in driver's seat [see photo]. Driver door card is not original - the trim & colour is the same but speaker grille doesn't quite match.
Engine is bog standard with no mods.
HPI clear.
Professionally-restored bodywork [photos available] and replacement ABS regulator/ pump at 100, 000 miles.
All ABS sensors have been replaced at various stages of her life with me. Her cam belt was done at 82, 000 and 95, 000 miles.
She has nice-looking three-spoke alloys [refurbished with the body, with a little kerb scrape on one of the front ones], but I also have the original wheels & tyres in the cellar which can be included in the sale if you want them at no extra cost.
Continental Premium Contact 2s all round - fitted November 2018 but she’s only covered just over 4000 miles since then, so there is plenty of life in them.
Aircon doesn't work [never has since I owned her]
I've never tried the Cruise Control.
Obviously, she is not a new car, but she’s real fun to drive and TBH she’s a real looker.
It’s hard to let her go, but I'm selling her now because I'm really not using her enough [the MOT history shows that!] – I have a van and and a [recently acquired] Audi TT. I would like to see her go to a good home with an enthusiast who will look after her the way I have.
I have a massive folder of receipts – a full history since I bought her. I also have the service book – stamped with a mainly Honda service history prior to that.
A more comprehensive history, plus photographs and a full VOSA MOT history, is available to serious potential buyers.
I have a “video tour” of the vehicle – message me and I’ll send you the link [they ain’t allowed on here].
I’m happy to answer any questions.
I’m in no hurry to sell, so PLEASE, all you tyre-kickers out there, don’t waste your, or my, time with silly speculative offers. [BTW, for those who aren't sure, £1500 less than asking price IS a SILLY offer ???????? ]
Thanks for looking.
