Coming to us with bills for over 60, 000 in restoration: This is a car to which everything has been done & was sold previously by ourselves. The car comes with a simply massive set of bills & also a detailed & comprehensive set of pictures of the works undertaken.
Supplied new to Barclays Bank in Lombard St London, the car according to the heritage certificate was first supplied in light blue with dark blue interior trim. When restored it was refinished in darker blue with a cream interior.
The car needless to say presents beautifully, the restoration having finished in 2014. It is fitted with new chrome wire wheels all round with knock off spinners. The original books & manuals come with the car along with 3 sets of keys.
Tidy under the bonnet, these Dainlers are a joy to drive. The lightweight V8 engine saves many many pounds over the heavier Jaguar straight six making the car light & agile to drive whilst having smooth ample performance from the V8 engine. The auto gearbox is well suited to the v8 providing soft imperceptible changes unless being pushed hard.
The current onwer has maintained the car without regard to expense but has started to use it far less since a Rolls-Royce corniche appeared in his garage. A set of recent bills attest to the careful attention the car has received in the past few years of ownership during which time the car has proved utterly reliable.
