1980 W116 450SE AUTO - RESTORATION PROJECT
Another of our restoration projects we are listing for sale is this super rare w116 standard wheelbase saloon.
It was up and driving and regularly mot’d on the road up until 3 years ago and was in the hands of the last but 1 owner for nearly twenty years and comes with all the original books including a stamped service record so has a superb provenance in terms of a proposition for scope for an increase in value once all works are completed.
It is a running driving car but will obviously require an element of recommissioning including a full service and check over of the brakes etc before being used on the road.
All the external trim is in excellent condition although there is some rust to the body including a small patch on the front scuttle panel and rust on both rear arches and offside front sill panel . We restored one of these cars last year and the body panels are readily available very cheaply from Germany (eg rear arches £45!) happy to share the details with any prospective purchasers.
The passenger side front window regulator will also require replacement as the window glass was dropping and we have removed this to confirm .

This vehicle represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a superb value w116 with great scope for investment if you look at the price of similar vehicles in roadworthy condition (there are only a couple for sale and are £18k to £20k minimum)
