Model History
Launched in 1990 and christened “King of the Hill” due to the cars prodigious power and handling, the Corvette ZR1 was the undisputed American supercar king.
Powered by a Lotus developed 5. 7 litre V8 christened the LT5, this phenomenal powerhouse had an aluminum-block V8 with four overhead camshafts and 32 valves producing 375Bhp. Lotus also designed a unique air management system for the engine to provide a wider power band by shutting off 8 of the 16 intake runners and fuel injectors when the engine was at part-throttle.
In addition to the engine, Lotus helped GM design the ZR-1's upgraded braking and steering systems meaning this was the first Corvette to handle and stop as well as its European counterparts.
In order to transfer power to the rear wheels, a unique 6-speed manual transmission was manufactured by ZF using Computer Aided Gear Selection (CAGS)
Although the ZR-1 was extremely quick with a 0-60 mph time of 4. 4 seconds and a top speed of over a top speed of over 180 mph, the huge performance of the LT5 engine was matched by its robustness and as evidence of this, a factory standard ZR-1 set seven international and world records at Fort Stockton, Texas on March 1, 1990, verified by the FIA.

Our Car
According to the CarFax report contained within the history file, our ZR1 was originally registered on the 14th August 1990 in Maryland and was imported to the UK in 2000. Having had only three UK owners this ZR1 is in fantastic condition being finished in classic Corvette red over a light grey interior.
Having covered a mere 34500 miles from new this Corvette drives faultlessly with stunning performance and a thunderous soundtrack from the four large tail pipes.
The ride is particularly good for a sportscar having electronically adjustable suspension which allows you to choose between tour/ sport/ performance settings to vary the firmness of the ride, whilst sun lovers will be pleased to note that the roof panel is easily removed allowing you to catch some rays whilst enjoying the V8 music.
Being a top of the range car, and in true American style this ZR1 came ‘fully loaded’ with electric seats, air condition, cruise control and a bose hifi making this classic Corvette a usable and enjoyable classic.
Finding a Corvette ZR1 in the UK is hard enough, but to find such a low mileage car in this condition is a very rare find, and we feel you will be hard pressed to find a better example. Naturally we are happy for you to inspect the car on our ramps or have the car independently inspected.
