A very well-presented example of the coveted Clio 182 Trophy, and number 229 of the 500 produced.
Under the bonnet sits a 2. 0-litre naturally aspirated inline-four, delivering 180bhp to the front wheels via a close-ratio five-speed manual transmission.
This 182 Trophy has been freshly serviced and benefits from a recently refurbished gearbox, new clutch, as well as rebuilt front Sachs dampers.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This Clio 182 Trophy is finished in the model’s signature Capsicum Red over a black leather and synthetic suede interior, and rides on its original lightweight 16-inch Speedline alloy wheels, shod with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.
Also included in the factory specification is a larger rear spoiler, air-conditioning, cruise control with speed limiter, Recaro seats, and the sophisticated Sachs front dampers.
This Trophy has also been fitted with Koni adjustable rear dampers, a custom stainless-steel exhaust, and French tri-colour detailing to the front grille as a nod to its Gallic origin.
The car comes with its original owner’s book pack and extensive service history alongside a raft of invoices.
CONDITION
There is no known bodywork damage.
The Capsicum Red paintwork presents very well, with a few minor imperfections commensurate with the age of the car, including a handful of light scratches and stone chips across the front end. The windscreen is reported to have some light scratching caused by the wipers
Moving inside, the cabin is in excellent overall condition, with signs of use on the steering wheel rim and some minor creasing on the driver’s seat.
There are no known electrical faults. There is a slight leak from the gearbox gasket seal, but this will be rectified ready for handover to the next owner.
The most recent MOT test was on 19 March 2021 at 85, 439 miles, when a first-time pass was recorded with advisories for a deteriorated nearside front CV joint boot and hazing on the headlamps. The CVJ boot has since been replaced.
SERVICE HISTORY
The car was most recently serviced in December 2021 at approximately 86, 000 miles by Appletons Services, who replaced the engine oil and filter, brake fluid, pollen filter and air filter.
Prior to this, Birchdown Auto Services carried out services in September 2019 at 82, 447 miles, and in April 2018 at 78, 416 miles, which included replacing the front and rear brake pads and discs.
The timing belt and pulley were replaced alongside a lambda sensor in March 2017 at 73, 698 miles by Birchdown Auto Services.
The gearbox has been refurbished in the last year, and a new clutch has also been fitted.
