1 Previous Owner, Incredible Complete History File, No Rust (photos to prove), Only 83k Miles.
Here for Sale is my Clio 172 Ph1. It is the rare Iceberg Silver, 1 of only 99 cars in this colour (The same colour as the V6 Ph1’s). The car has just 1 Previous owner prior to me. The original owner has this car for over 20 Years! I bought it back in June last year and have spent around £3k tidying it up but driven less than 500 miles in it. I’d love to keep it but need the space for my other Clio 200 Silverstone GP Edition. The complete history file includes the original invoice from the purchase. (The first owner traded in his Renault 5 GT Turbo, so owned by another Renault enthusiast). The History file is enormous. I’ve taken the time to list most of it which you can see in one of the photos.
Body Work
Iceberg Silver. This colour is limited to only 99 Ph1 cars. I personally prefer this to Titanium which was on the earlier cars. I also have a lightweight aluminum bonnet (not fitted) which could be included in the sale.
The most important thing about the body work is that there is zero rust. The Ph1 often suffer from rusty sills. I have removed the side skirts to check and have photos to prove there is no rust. This car spent most of its life in London so has the benefit of zero rust, but it does have some minor dents as you’d expect. The sort of thing you get from car parks that would be easily removed by the Dent man. The car is currently tucked up warm and dry in my garage.
Wheels & Tyres
It has the original Ph1 OZ F1 wheels. The tires are Michelin Pilot 3. All with good tread.
I recently fitted Wheels Spacers 19mm front and back with extended bolts. This make the stance much nicer but are easily removed if not to your taste.
Suspension
I had fitted Bilstein B14 Coil over Suspension. It is brand new. I have the standard suspension which is also in good condition which you could refit if preferred.
Engine
83k Miles. Completely standard Engine. Including the Standard Airbox and Strap. These are often replaced for aftermarket induction kit; the originals are sort after and quite rare. The Cam Belt and Water Pump were changed November 2020 and less than 500 miles ago.
Exhaust
It has the standard exhaust system. The previous owner removed the Cat just before selling it (He got £500 for it! so couldn’t blame him). So, it currently has a decat on it. However, I have sourced an original rare Cat ready to refit. It is the original 2-barrel type. I can include this in the sale.
Interior
The interior is standard. I have had the steering wheel re-trimmed in the original alcantara style.
Private Plate
The R21 ORT is currently on the Car. The original registration is Y403 NGU. I still have the original dealer plates. I’d be happy to negotiate me keeping the private plate or letting it go with the car.
Things left to do to make this an £8k car in 3 years time (and a great investment for the future).
Car prices have been rising recently especially desirable cars. This really is the Clio V6’s little brother and will continue to become more desirable especially now that Renault Sport have announced they will no longer make any Renault Sport Cars. This was the first car badged as Renault Sport and made in the old Alpine factory in Dieppe.
A common fault is that both the keys have lost communication with the central locking and immobilizer. To fix this will cost around £270 for a new programmed key. This car has this issue but is over come by the little immobilizer plug in that most people have. As mentioned, there are some marks on the paintwork but nothing serious, a couple of hundred quid in a body shop could get it spot on. (I don’t mind a few marks myself).
The MOT expires 26th April 2022. The car has driven less than 500 miles since the last MOT so expect no problems.
