EXTERIOR BODY
The Golf is finished in the factory colour of 'Jade Green' and the condition of the paint work is great all around the car. There are no rust issues and the overall body is superb. Being an early example, this model features the smaller bumpers with red stripe detailing and a black VW badge set into the twin headlight grille.
WHEELS & TYRES
The GTI features 15" BBS RA alloys wheels and each have good tyres. These wheels would have been an optional extra worth having at the time of building the car back in 1988.
INTERIOR COMPONENTS
The Interior seats are the standard grey check with blue and yellow detail and there are no rips or tears. The sunroof is mechanically operated. There is a working original multi-tape player, leather steering wheel and the front and rear windows are manually operated with Volkswagen-stamped glass.
MECHANICS
The 8v fuel injected GTI engine is responsive whilst being reliable and still running as well today as it would have in the 80's. Our technicians carried out over £4, 200 worth of recent mechanical refurbishment on the vehicle for the previous owner, which is fully documented. There will also be a 12 month MOT certificate on the car prior to sale.
SERVICE & MAINTENANCE HISTORY
There is a file of history with the GTI as well as a stamped original service record. Many of the MOT certificates are present and the vehicle is HPI clear.
DRIVE & COMFORT
This low-mileage GTI is a shining example of the Golf Mk2 and drives superbly well. The handling is great and suspension feels comfortable on the road with all components working brilliantly. Economical and responsive, this is a great example of 80's German engineering.
