I bought it in april 2019 and it quickly became a loved family member. I have given cadbury a lot of tlc, serviced it within an inch of its life and done the cambelt.
i use it as often as i can because 1 i love driving it 2 it does not like being left sitting for too long 3 it's actually very practical and could be used everyday if wanted.
there is far too much to mention so i will do my best to shorten it for you. Main thing i did was convert it from automatic to a 5 speed manual which was a mission in itself and now cadbury can drive much greater distances as it's a lot quieter than the screaming auto. It will crunch is you slam it into gears, needs a firm but gentle touch and with all cars this age it has it's quirks. Has mot until may 1st 2022 even though it is mot and tax exempt.
electronic ignition conversion, new cambelt, full service, xenon headlight bulbs and loom upgrade, 5 new tyres, new clutch, coolant flushed and renewed, new coil, new fuel lines compatible with e10 fuel, new coolant hoses, rare weber conversion for 1. 5, brake system completely overhauled, suspension overhauled, ivory sun blind & new locks 1 key fits all.... i could go on and on about the things it's had done.
benefits from some really rare parts and original features, really amazing condition for the age.
i have taken some high quality pitures and a walk around video but there is no comparison to viewing in person so come and view to make your own mind up. It's garaged out of the weather so even if it's dark outside you can still see it.
there are the odd marks on the bodywork and some light surface rust creeping in but it's all superficial really by the looks of it and i have not had any paint done. Even though it's had paint over the years probably i wanted to keep the warts and all as it's part of it's history. Weirdly sometimes it will not start and key to crank position for a few seconds it's burts into life but normally starts as soon as the carb gets petrol when cranking.
only other drawback is no service history apart from the stacks of part receipts and invoices i have gathered. The radio stopped working (included) but i have bought another period philips one but not yet fitted. The bluetooth sony isnt included unless you want it instead of the period one offered
has original manual and brochure. The previous owner owned it for an incredible 40 years... she was the second owner and i am the third. She said she bought it from her boss in about 1979 who had it as a company car.
the price is firm so don't waste your time if you want to pay less
