Fully Rebuilt 1975 MGB Roadster V8
Dating from August 1975, this smart MGB Roadster is not quite the flamenco red 1. 8 litre rubber bumper MGB it was when it left the factory gates – it’s much much more!
Converted between 2001 – 2002 by an ex-Austin Rover engineer, and with parts supplied by respected companies, this car has been completely transformed.
Powered by the ubiquitous Rover 3. 5 V8, rebuilt by Abbey Sports Cars at a cost of £2395, the engine benefits from breathing through a Weber carburettor with edelbrock manifold whilst the exhaust system has been upgraded to a stainless-steel system which sounds wonderful letting you hear that delicious V8 growl.
Sitting on 15-inch minilites this MGB handles as well as it looks having been fitted with a full Hoyle suspension system costing £3000, whist the braking system has also been upgraded in line with the extra power with MGB V8 front discs and callipers and a rear disc conversion.
The bodyshell has been modified to accept the gearbox whist a new grill, front wings and rear wing inserts have been fitted and the car debumpered for a cleaner and more sporting look. Once the panel work was completed the car was repainted in Snowberry white and a new burgundy hood fitted.
To compliment the restored exterior a new red leather interior has been fitted with matching carpets to the footwells and boot area, whilst to bring the car up to date electric windows and an Android touch screen system running Apple car play has been fitted.
The history file for this car is extensive with a multitude of invoices and MOT certificates dating back to 1982 and really needs to be reviewed to appreciate the amount of effort, time and money that has been expended to create this very special car.
Having covered just over 15, 000 miles since completion, this car is still in lovely condition and is ready to be cherished and enjoyed by its next owner.
