Fully restored and rust-free Starlight Black UKDM DC2 Type R, future-proofed and ready to enjoy, with some tasteful mods and upgrades.
All four brake calipers recently remanufactured (by Bigg Red in Worcester) and are as new (3 were binding & flagged as recent MOT advisories).
Full professional restoration and refresh by DC2 specialist in 2017 around 10, 000 miles ago – work carried out:
Rear arch and sill rust repair, both sides. Complete body and engine bay respray in OEM Starlight Black.
Complete underbody and engine bay strip down (fuel tank, all fuel and brake lines removed).
Engine replaced with a gem of a B18C (the engine mileage matched the chassis mileage almost exactly). New water pump, air con removed. I have the full service history for the engine; 4000 mile oil changes its entire life, it is incredibly clean and absolutely sings, no build up of grime or discoloration under the cam cover whatsoever when it was changed recently. No smoke and very unusually for a B18, it barely burns any oil.
The car was stripped to a shell and mounted on a spit, the entire underside wire-wheeled to bare metal to remove all previous underseal / surface rust, then treated with Kurarust.
Complete fresh underseal including front inner wings and under the fuel tank. (From the factory these areas are not rust protected).
Engine bay stripped, cleaned and prepped with a full body color respray. All removed items were cleaned using an industrial strength degreaser leaving most items looking like new.
Front hubs and rear trailing arms stripped, cleaned and painted
All 4 brake calipers and carriers stripped, cleaned and painted
Scuttle panel painted
Headlights restored
Rear trailing arm bushes replaced with OEM.
Front and rear ARB’s shot blasted and powder coated in red (Mugen style)
Front and rear subframes and many engine ancillary mounting brackets shot blasted and powder coated
Parts replaced with OEM in 2017:
Ek9 short throttle cable
Front and rear bumper support bars
Stainless steel nuts, bolts and washers all around
New track rod ends x2
New ARB drop links
Rear number plate light brackets
Fuel line pack
Rear light gaskets replaced & sealed
New OEM Honda red badges, new decals all round.
OEM Momo steering wheel, retrimmed by Royal Steering Wheels

Skunk 2 racing 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, wrapped in titanium heat-wrap.
Skunk 2 Black Series front upper strut brace
K&N filter in stock airbox, resonator delete, stock lower intake pipe modified for cold air feed behind bumper.
Mugen twin loop exhaust system, custom Powerflow centre section. (Quieter than OEM at a cruise, sounds wonderful when you want it to)
HSD coilovers (with sensible spring rates, not too stiff)
16” Rota Grid wheels in bronze
New Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 RS tires
Hardrace rear toe arms
Skunk 2 billet Lower Control Arms, anodized in gold

The rear seats, interior plastics, boot floor insert and parcel shelf are currently out but are included. I insisted on removing the interior plastics when I bought it: you can see from the inside that the sills and arches are 100% solid – the only way to be sure. (I took them out to chase a squeak... which turned out to be from the hatch & very easily stopped!). All interior parts are in good condition; the rear seats are unmarked, a little purple from UV as they tend to be but with no holes or tears.
Cambelt changed under 20k miles ago (@101, 000)
Always run on V Power & Millers Nanodrive.
The gearbox is a joy, it slices through all gears with no hesitation. The clutch has done maybe 30k miles but feels perfect.
Comes with owner’s manual & original wallet, service book, 2 immobilizer fobs, 2 keys, and the unopened red key.
Loads of other bits & spares: OEM dampers with Eibach springs, OEM LCA’s, 4l of Millers oil, spare fluids, the space saver spare wheel, a full size spare Rota if you want it… probably more in the shed I’ve forgotten!
It has just had a service at Hond-R, MOT until 28 Oct 2022.
Cosmetic negative points
It has a couple of nasty stone chips on the front bumper (a standard size number plate would cover one as the current plate is cut down). There are a couple of smaller chips on the spoiler and rear bumper corner. Sold with a new £45 Chipex pack and touch up pens to repair these.
The stereo is absolutely rubbish. If you think that matters, you may be reading the wrong ad :-)

Since the restoration it has been garaged, taken off the road in winter and barely seen a drop of rain. It is not a museum-piece matching-numbers example, but it has been fully sorted, it wants for nothing and it is an absolute joy to drive.
