Here for sale is my mk2 Golf GTI 8 valve.
Last owner since 2012. It was used as a weekend and show car, going to VW and classic car shows.
The car has the most comprehensive history file I’ve ever seen and even has the original sales invoice, brochure and PDI form! The history folder includes every invoice from the car and a stamped service book. The file is around 2 inches thick! Both original VW keys are with the car.
The main reason for the orginal purchase was is it it so original, such as the BBS RA alloys, airbox etc no modifications. Inside it has the best GTI check interior I’ve seen with no bolster wear or cigarette burns.
It’s been off the road since 2016 to repair some lacquer peel on the sunroof and address the roof liner which had sagged and has now been repaired. However as often happens when it got tucked away in the garage and other priorities took over so its not been back on the road since, and the sunroof still has lacquer peel (nowhere else does). The car has been stored in my dry garage. Recently the car got a little lazy on the starter so I’ve fitted a new battery and starter and it now starts perfectly, but obviously needs a service etc..
Only 6 owners from new etc…. If you check mot history it’s done 381 miles since last mot and it passed. It’s been dry stored since 2016!
The tyres although having good tread are old and probably flat spotted from being parked, discs and pads will also needs cleaning up or replacing. Another point is that the central locking currently doesn’t work and some of the door latches have gone stiff but always open, close and lock.
The colour is Royal Blue LA5U and is a metallic finish, there’s also a fairly rare optional leather trimmed steering wheel.
This is sold as a running project car in need of a service etc..
Based just 5 miles away from Bury St Edmunds Suffolk
My unit has good access for a trailer or truck as obviously it can’t be driven away. (I can also arrange transportation)
